1979 - Degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Trieste 110/100.
1983 - Specialty in Neurology at the University of Trieste 70 cum laude.
1988 - Specialty in Neurophysiology at the University of Florence 70/70.
In the course of his training he won several scientific scholarships.
From 1985 to 2004 MD at the Neurological Department - University of Trieste.
From 2004 to 2018 he was appointed Director of the SOS of Clinical Neurophysiology - Cattinara Hospital – Trieste.
Until 2018 he was in charge of the Regional Center for the study and therapy of epilepsies.
Since March 2018 he is retired and carries out professional activities.
Adjunct Professor at the University of Trieste and Udine.
Member of the Italian League against Epilepsy (LICE), of the Italian Society of
Clinical Neurophysiology (SINC), of the Italian Society of Neurology, of the Italian Association for the Study of Peripheral Nerve.
Former member of the National Directives of LICE and SINC.
He is an overseas member of the American Epilepsy Society and of the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS).
From February 2018 he was promoted to the Fellow level of the ACNS.
He has published over 100 scientific papers peer reviews (H index = 9).
He attended as a speaker at many national and international congresses and courses.
He was coordinator for the Northern Italy of the national Vesta project (vegetative states) funded by the Italian Ministry of Health.
He collaborated in the drafting of national guidelines on the use of EEG in epilepsy, on neurophysiological monitoring in the operating room, on the management of tumor epilepsies.
He collaborated in the drafting of the technical notes attached to the new law for the detection of brain death
He has participated in numerous multi-center national and international studies, in particular for the preclinical evaluation of new anti-epileptic drugs.
He organized four national/ international conferences held in Trieste and numerous regional and interregional meetings.
